The Studio

Andrade Works is a small woodworking studio in Massachusetts, founded by Nicholas Andrade.

I started Andrade Works to design and make pieces I would want in my own home — well made, useful, and built from materials that age well.

Everything is made in small batches. That gives me the time to pay attention to the wood, fit, finish, and details of each piece.

The Work

I work primarily with solid hardwoods, including walnut and white oak. I approach each piece the same way I would a piece of furniture: start with good material, build it carefully, and finish it by hand.

Natural differences in grain, color, and texture are part of the wood and make every piece slightly different.

The collection currently centers around solid wood picture frames, but Andrade Works was never intended to be only a frame shop. New pieces will be introduced as they are developed.

The Approach

I don't believe a well-made object needs to be complicated. Good proportions, good materials, and careful construction go a long way.

The goal with Andrade Works is simple: make things well and make them worth keeping.
